Cabbage Three Ways Gluten-Free Part Three

Cabbage Soup Last but not least is my cabbage soup recipe. Does anyone out there remember the cabbage soup diet? All you had to do is eat cabbage soup all day and you would lose weight. We all thought it had some magical properties about it but what we were doing is just cutting out all processed foods and sugar from our diet which naturally resulted in weight loss. I would eventually pass out and have to be revived with a burger from McDonald’s (this was the 70’s and 80’s, mind you). I am a protein person. If I don’t...

Cabbage Three Ways | Gluten-Free | Part Two

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls Above you see my mom’s world famous stuffed cabbage rolls. I converted the family recipe to gluten-free and no artificial flavorings or seasonings. My used to use Accent (MSG) in quite a few of her recipes. A quick note to my VEGAN FRIENDS: Below you will see photos of the ground meat version of this recipe. Hold tight, if you scroll down, I also offer a vegan version of this recipe using beans. Restaurant Review | E&O Asian Kitchen | San Francisco

Recently, I was invited to try the gluten-free menu options at E&O Asian Kitchen in San Francisco, California. I tend to not think of Asian food when it comes to gluten-free dining so I was glad to be introduced to this restaurant. Right away I was very impressed even just upon entering. The interior design is amazing cloaked in warm inviting earth tones. My daughter, Ashlee, home from college, joined me for lunch. Presented with our gluten-free menus (I love it when a restaurant has a specific gluten-free menu), it was hard to choose...

Wow, saying this makes me feel very old.  Now, the kids barely pay attention to the animated band at Chuck E Cheese. They are more obsessed with the electronic games.Sam was over the moon when I told him Chuck E Cheese now has gluten free pizza. It has long been one of his favorite places to go. I read in an article that they are doing a thorough job with their gluten-free offerings so I decided to give it a...

Everyday Classics | Gluten Free Cookbook | Review and Giveaway

This is my dream cookbook…gluten, dairy, egg, soy-free and…family oriented. I am so excited to review this cookbook. I have been following Lexie’s Kitchen for some time now and am thrilled to say, I love her new cookbook. My family has already asked for the chicken and rice casserole again. I was hoping it would last for two meals and it did not (I’ll have to double the recipe next time). I decided to try the following recipes: Chicken Pot Pie, Chicken and Rice Casserole, Whipped Coconut Cream, Chocolate Pudding and,...
