Sammy's Recovery Story

Sammy at the time of his diagnosis.

In October 2009, my youngest son, Sammy, was diagnosed on the autism spectrum.

He was speech delayed and had many other autistic traits. I had read several books about parents who placed their children on an elimination diet removing gluten and dairy, and other potential inflammatory. At that time, I had been on the diet almost a year and had experienced amazing results. I decided to put Sammy on the diet. Sammy, only 2-1/2 years then, transitioned easily and within a few weeks his vocabulary exploded and he began putting two words together for the first time. As the

months progressed, almost all of his autistic traits began to dissolve. In fall of 2012, Sammy was mainstreamed without assistance into kindergarten. He is now in what is considered "managed recovery" from autism.

I attribute his recovery story to the elimination diet and other early intervention therapies. The old saying is true, "We are what we eat." I believe our children deserve the best fighting chance for a healthy, happy and productive life and it all begins by what we feed them. If you suspect food sensitivities could be at the root of your child's challenges, request your FREE 30 minute health assessment today to see if my coaching services could help you along your healing journey.
