Juice and Java Express – Restaurant Review

Juice and Java Express – Restaurant Review

I was delighted to find this little cafe right in the heart of Farmer’s Market in Downtown Pleasanton on W. Angela St. Not only do they serve organic coffee and tea in a quaint and cozy atmosphere but they have a whole menu of juice blends and smoothies with exotic names like Dragonfly, Green Isle, Love Birds, Beet Me Up (my personal favorite) and Fresh As A Cucumber. Their wide selection of fruits and vegetables are organic, when possible, and they offer several non-dairy boosts (flax seed, pumpkin seed and vit C) as well as a nice selection of organic non-dairy milks (almond,...

Valentine Treats

Valentine Treats

I am on an endless quest for healthier and fun holiday treats for my son. I find it stressful to deal with holidays, birthdays and any other event that offers buffet tables of food my son and I should not eat. Cybele Pascal’s Allergen-free Baker’s Handbook is my favorite baking cookbook. The Classic Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe was the first to win the approval of my household – even my gluten eaters. Now this Double Choco Chunk Cookie recipe has as well. The cookie plate was clean in no time flat and I have to say that they were not that hard to make. If you’re a chocolate...

Miglet’s Gluten Free Cupcake Shop

Miglet’s Gluten Free Cupcake Shop

We had a fun day of play and GFCF cupcakes. Miglet’s Gluten Free Bakery in Danville on Hartz Ave allowed these two GFCF boys to enjoy a GFCF vegan cupcake and cookie treat along with a coconut (dairy free, of course) chocolate milk. It’s a good day when my son can go into a bakery and order something off the shelf to eat. Thanks, Miglet’s! Along with gluten free, vegan cupcakes, cookies and scones available right in the case, Miglet’s Bakery also carries an extensive array of gluten free products including breads, pastas, sauces, candy and other products. My favorite...
