GF Orzo Pasta Recipe Review and Giveaway

GF Orzo Pasta Recipe Review and Giveaway

I found this gluten-free orzo pasta recipe (below) on the TACA (Talk About Curing Autism) Web site. It’s the first time I’ve heard of gluten-free orzo type pasta. It’s amazing to me how many new GF pasta varieties are now available. The grainery that makes this unique orzo pasta, Edison Grainery, is located right here in the East Bay area, in Emeryville. They offer a really nice selection of gluten-free organic grains and pastas. I ordered organic amaranth (my “happy food”), quinoa flakes (for quinoa porridge), buckwheat and several bags of various GF pastas....

Cinnamon Donut Muffins – Recipe Review

Cinnamon Donut Muffins – Recipe Review

Cinnamon Donut Muffins- Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Egg Free, Soy Free, Nut Free Back in my “gluten days” I used to make scrumptious mini cinnamon muffins on an occasional Sunday morning for brunch. They were great to take to family gatherings. Stuffed in a cute basket with a pretty napkin, guests would gobble them up. I made them in a mini muffin pan so they were easy to pop in the mouth and had a wonderful cinnamon toast flavor to them. After going gluten and dairy free (GFCF), I often thought about these muffins and missed having the option to make them. Well, you can imagine my...

Aunti Gluten’s GF Bread

Aunti Gluten’s GF Bread

I’ve become somewhat of a gluten free (GF) bread connoisseur. It’s not that I consume bread regularly. I would blow up to 200 pounds again quickly if I did but bread is definitely one of my “comfort foods” and there are just times when I’ve got to have it. When I do, it needs to be close to perfect. I mean it should have that gluten bread feel texture and smell otherwise, it’s not worth the calories to me. I actually use different types of GF bread for different purposes. I’ll feature an entire post on that in the near future but meanwhile, I want to...

Valentine Treats

Valentine Treats

I am on an endless quest for healthier and fun holiday treats for my son. I find it stressful to deal with holidays, birthdays and any other event that offers buffet tables of food my son and I should not eat. As I’ve delved deeper into a healthy eating style, I’ve become so conscious of the toxic junk our children are consuming and its effects on their health that I no longer can even donate my son’s candy he receives at various events. I’m sorry to say that if it makes its way to my home, it goes straight in the garbage. I decided that if I don’t want to...

Pumpkin Pecan Bars

Pumpkin Pecan Bars

I love having this recipe for last minute, unexpected potluck dinners and parties in the fall and early winter. Back in my “gluten eating days,” I made this for many parties with great success. People love it. I made it tonight for the first time, gluten free and vegan. It was a success. The texture was definitely different but the taste was still the same and, if you’d never had the gluten version, you would have never known the difference. Pumpkin Pecan Dessert Bars – Gluten Free and Vegan (can be made without nuts) One box gluten free yellow cake mix (I prefer...
